Spiritual Direction
Spiritual direction is a process of accompanying people on their individual spiritual journey. In our postmodern age, many people dislike the term "spiritual direction" because it sounds like one person giving directions, or orders, to another. Spiritual direction invites a deeper conversation in between a Spiritual Director and an individual or group in a setting that fosters a greater understanding of the spiritual aspect of being human.
Spiritual direction helps us learn how to live in peace, with compassion, while acknowledging relevant teachings of whatever spiritual discipline one follows. Although spiritual direction has had a burst of new life, it is really quite ancient. Today, spiritual directors come from many traditions.…
